1Brahmin, when Narada, who has the sight of the gods, was urged by Brahma to tell the qualities of the one who has no qualities, to whom and to whom did he speak, and in what way? 2Best of those who know the Veda, I want to know the truth of this. The accounts of Hari, whose strength is a wonder, are most auspicious for the world. 3Tell it, greatly favoured one, in such a way that I may set my mind, loosed from all clinging, on Krsna the self of all, and so give up this body. 4For one who listens with trust, always, and who speaks out his doings, the Bhagavan enters the heart before very long. 5Coming in by the opening of the ear into the lotus of the feeling of his own people, Krsna shakes out what is foul in them, as autumn does with water.
6A man whose self has been washed clean does not let go of the base of Krsna's feet, as a traveller loosed from every hardship does not leave his own house.
