7Brahmin, since he is not made of the elements, how did the making of a body out of elements begin for him, by chance or by some cause? You and those with you know how it is. 8From his belly came the lotus that carries the pattern by which the worlds stand. However great this Person is, and however much he is when his limbs are taken one by one, just so great is that one said to be, as though he had a shape and had limbs. 9It is by his grace that the unborn one, the self of beings, sends the beings forth; and it was by that grace that the one who rose from the navel lotus saw that form of his. 10And that Person too, in whom lie the standing and the rising and the going away of the world, the lord of maya, letting his own maya go, lies down; and he lies in the cave of every heart.
11We have heard it said both ways: that the worlds with their guardians were fashioned first out of the limbs of the Person, and that his limbs are the worlds with their guardians.
