The lords of creatures, the Manus, the gods, the seers, the companies of the fathers, each apart; the perfected, the wandering bards, the singers of heaven, the holders of knowledge, the antigods, the hidden ones; the kinnaras and the dancing women of heaven, the nagas, the snakes, the kimpurusas and men; the mothers, the raksasas and the goblins, the departed, the spirits and the obstructors; the gourd-imps, the madnesses, the corpse-spirits, the night-prowlers, and the seizers too; birds, wild beasts, cattle, trees, mountains, king, and creeping things; and others of two kinds and of four, at home in the water, on the land and in the sky. These are the courses that works take: good, bad, and mixed.

Clarity, passion and darkness: by these three there are gods, men and those in hell. And within each of them, king, the courses divide again in three, when one own-nature is struck by the other two.
