Looking for the master I loved, I saw him sitting alone by the Sarasvati, the home of Sri, who has made a shelter for himself and has none. Dark and clear at once, without a speck, his reddish eyes altogether quiet, known by his four arms and by his yellow silk. He had set the lotus of his right foot up on his left thigh, leaning back against a young fig tree; he was not wasted, and he had let the fruit go. There one great among the Lord's own, friend and companion to Dvaipayana, who had attained and was walking through the worlds, came upon him as it happened. To that sage who loved him, whose neck was bent low with the joy in him, Mukunda spoke while I listened; and with a loving, smiling look he gave me rest.
