8By what divisions of what is real the lord over the worlds shaped the worlds and what is not the worlds and the guardians of the worlds; and in which the division of every class of living things is fixed and made out. 9And by what Narayana, maker of all, whose womb is himself, laid down among creatures the divisions of self and work and form and name: describe this too to us, best of brahmins. 10Revered one, I have heard again and again from Vyasa's own mouth the observances of the high and the low; and of those, which bring only a small happiness, we have had our fill, apart from the flood of nectar that is talk of Krsna.
11Who could have his fill of the naming of him whose feet are a ford, praised by the wise in your sessions, a name that once it has gone down a man's ear cuts off the love of home that gives him birth again? 12The sage Krsna, your friend too, wanting to speak the qualities of the Bhagavan, told the Bharata; and there men's minds, caught by retellings of the pleasures of the village, were taken into the story of Hari.
