Having sent out first the great principle and the rest, with all their changes, in order, the mighty one drew the vast one out of them and then entered him. Whom they call the first Person, with a thousand feet and thighs and arms, in whom all these worlds sit with everything they unfold into. In whom breath is of ten kinds and threefold, with the senses and what the senses take. You have spoken of this, and of the classes that come from him. Now tell us his powers. In whom, with sons and sons' sons and grandsons and those born into the line, creatures of many shapes came to be, and by them all this is stretched out.

He, the lord of the lords of creatures, shaped which lords of creatures? And what sendings out and what sendings after, and which Manus, the rulers of the ages of Manu? And their Vedas too, and what was done in their lines; and the worlds that stand above the earth and below it, son of Mitra. Describe how those stand and their measure, and the measure of the world of earth. And tell us how the sending out is ordered for animals and men and gods, for crawling and winged things, for those born of a womb, of sweat, of an egg, and those that break out of the ground.
