Verse 2

¹How worthy of the good is the line of Puru, in which you have been born a guardian of the world with the Bhagavan for your chief concern, and in which, at every step and again and again, you make fresh the garland of the Unconquered's fame. ²So I set going the Bhagavata Purana, which the Bhagavan himself spoke to the sages, that the great suffering of people who have gone after small pleasures may come to an end.
