At the passing of the day he takes on a measure of darkness, his stride held back, everything overtaken by time, and he sits silent. As the night comes on, the three worlds, earth and the rest, are shut away in him, and moon and sun are let go. When the three worlds are burning by the power of the fire of Sankarsana, Bhrgu and the others, hurt by the heat, go up from Maharloka to Janas. Then in a moment the seas, swollen at the aeon's end, flood the three worlds, their waves driven up by wild winds with a huge uproar. Within that water Hari sits, with the Endless for his seat, his eyes closed in the sleep of yoga, praised by those who dwell in Janas.
