With the brahmins headed by Marici, with the Kumaras and with Manu, he looked at that boar shape and turned it over in his mind in many ways. What is this divine being standing here under the pretext of a boar? How strange this is, that it has come out of my nose. He was seen no bigger than a thumb-tip, and in a moment he was like a boulder. Can this be the Bhagavan, sacrifice itself, troubling my mind? While Brahma with his sons was weighing it so, the Bhagavan, the Person of sacrifice, roared, and he was like the lord of mountains. Hari, the mighty one, gladdened Brahma and those best of the twice-born with his own roar, which set the quarters echoing back.

Hearing that grunting of the boar made of maya, which wore their distress away, the sages who live in Janas and Tapas and Satya praised him with the three that make a man clean. He whose body is the whole spread of the Veda, Brahman, took in the good ones telling his qualities over, roared again, and for the rising of the gods went into the water with the ease of a great elephant.
