40Bhagavan, bearer of the earth, the earth with her mountains, held by you on the very tip of your tusk, shines out, as a lotus plant with its leaves shines held on the tusk of a great elephant coming up out of the forest. 41And this boar form of yours, made of the threefold Veda, with the round of the earth held on your tusk, blazes as a great mountain king blazes with a heavy cloud carried on its peak. 42Set her firm, for the worlds that move and the worlds that stand still to live in. She is your wife and their mother, and you are the father. And let us honour her along with you by our bowing, her in whom you laid your own fire, as fire is laid in the fire-sticks.
43Lord, who else would have believed this lifting up of the earth that had gone down to the deep? But it is no wonder in you, who are the wonder of the world, and who by maya made this thing that is past all wonder. 44As you shook out that body of yours which is made of the Veda, we who live in Janas and Tapas and Satya were wiped over by the drops of kindly water flung from the tips of your mane, and made wholly clean, Lord. 45That man's wit has surely fallen away who would come to the far shore of the deeds of you whose deeds have no shore. This whole world is bewildered by the joining of the strands of your yoga and your maya. Bhagavan, lay peace upon it.
