Pierced by the javelins of his enemy's foul words, and seeing the earth on the point of his tusk in her fear, he bore the sting and came up out of the middle of the water, as an elephant comes up with his mate when a crocodile has struck him. The one whose hair is gold ran after him as he came out of the water, as a fish runs after an elephant; and with his terrible teeth and a voice like thunder he said: What is too low for the shameless and the base? He set the earth down above the water, within its reach, and put his own power into her; and while the enemy looked on, the world's maker praised him and the gods showered him full with flowers.

The enemy pressed hard behind him, decked in gold, with a great mace and bright golden armour, stabbing again and again at the soft places with his foul words. Fierce with anger, the Bhagavan laughed and spoke to him.
