20Kaurava, wanting to see the crushing of the two who hated each other over the earth, the demon and the great one whose limbs are the sacrifice and who by maya had taken the body of a boar, the self-ruler came there, ringed by sages. 21Seeing the demon close at hand, bold, his fear gone, meeting every stroke, his valour not to be taken from him, the revered one who leads the thousand spoke to Narayana, the first boar. 22God, to the gods who have come to the soles of your feet, to the brahmins, to the cows of Surabhi's line, and to creatures that have done no wrong at all, 23this demon is a wrongdoer, a maker of fear, a worker of harm, and he had his boon granted by us. With no one to match him, he wanders the worlds looking for a fight: a thorn.
