17Then he let loose maya of many kinds against Hari, who is the lord of yogamaya; and the creatures, seeing it, were frightened and thought the world was being folded up. 18Fierce winds blew and raised a darkness of dust. Stones fell from every quarter as though sent out of slings. 19The sky lost its stars behind banks of cloud with lightning and thunder in them, and they rained down again and again pus and hair and blood, dung, urine and bones. 20Mountains appeared, blameless one, letting fall weapons of every kind, and women who eat flesh, naked, with spears in their hands and their hair loose. 21From many yaksas and raksasas, with foot-troops and horses and chariots and elephants, all of them out for blood, cruel and butchering words were let fly.
22To destroy those illusions of the demons that had been brought out, the Bhagavan whose feet are three sent forth his own dear weapon, the Sudarsana. 23Just then a trembling came all at once into Diti's heart, as she remembered what her husband had said; and blood ran from her breast.
