46He was shining with a body long joined to a fierce austerity, and yet not worn thin, because of the loving sidelong look of the Bhagavan and the hearing of those words of his, drops of nectar and deathlessness. 47Coming near, he found him tall, with eyes like lotus petals, his hair matted and his clothing bark, grimy from having gone unwashed, like a gem that has not been worked. 48Then, when the god among men had come to the leaf hut and bowed before him, he welcomed him and received him with the honours that were fitting. 49When the king had taken the honours and was sitting there, holding himself in, the sage pleased him, and, remembering what the Bhagavan had said, spoke in a smooth voice.
50Lord, your going about is surely for the guarding of the good and for the killing of the bad, since you are the power of Hari that protects. 51You who in due place take on the forms of the sun and the moon, of fire and Indra and the wind, of Yama, of Dharma and of Varuna: to you, white one, salutation.
