I am pleased with you today, daughter of Manu, you who give honour to others, pleased by your service beyond measure and your devotion beyond measure. This body, which for those who bear one is the dearest friend of all, you did not spare: you were ready to wear it out for my sake. Whatever graces of the Bhagavan I won, keeping to my own duty, by austerity, by absorption, by knowledge and by the yoga of the self, they are held here by your attendance on me. I give you the sight: look and see them, free of fear and free of sorrow. Other splendours have their whole arrangement broken by the mere lifting of the wide-strider's brow: what are they worth? You have come through. Enjoy these riches milked from your own duty, riches of heaven that men cannot reach for all their kingly display.

Seeing him speak so, who was skilled in all yogamaya and in knowledge, the woman was freed of her trouble. Her words faltering with modesty and love, her face shining with a shy glance and a smile, she said: It is accomplished, bull among the twice-born, and I know it, my lord, in you, mighty one, who are master of an unfailing yogamaya. But there was the promise you made me, one joining of our bodies. Let it come, for by a husband of worth offspring is the good that true wives look to. In that, teach me what should be done, as you were taught it, so that this self of mine, worn thin by too much longing, may come through, struck as I am by the desire that you have roused in my mind. It is wretched, lord: look out a house that will suit.
