Bhagavan said: What I have spoken is the measure for the world, in what is true and in what is of common life. So I have been born to you, sage, as I said I would, and that word was true. This birth of mine in this world is for those who want release from their bad turn of mind, and it is for the counting out of the real things, which is held in honour for the seeing of the self. This path of the self is unseen now, lost through the long passing of time. Know that I have taken up this body to set it going again. Go where you will, having asked my leave, having laid your works down in me. Conquer death, which is hard to conquer, and worship me, and be undying.

Seeing me, the self, self-lit, lying in the cave of every being, seeing me in the self and by the self, you will go past sorrow to where there is no fear. To my mother I will give the knowledge that goes to the innermost self, which quiets all works, and by which she too will cross out beyond fear.
