When these seven, the great principle and the rest, had not yet come together, then he from whom the world begins, joined with time and works and the strands, entered into them. Then out of them, pierced through by him and joined together, an egg rose up without awareness in it, and from that egg the Person, the vast one, stood up. This egg is called the distinguished. It is wrapped round by water and the rest, each layer ten times the last, and those wrapped round outside by the ground. In it is this spreading out of the worlds, the form of the Bhagavan, of Hari. Rising out of that golden shell of an egg as it lay on the water, the great god entered it and cut openings in it in many places.
