First his mouth opened, and speech came from it, and from speech fire. Then the two nostrils, and in the two, smelling, with the breath woven into it. From smelling came the wind. The two eyes opened, and sight in them, and from that the sun. The two ears opened, and hearing, and from that the quarters. Then the skin of the vast one opened, and hair and beard and the rest, and from that came the plants. Then the organ of sex opened, and from it seed, and from that the waters. Then the vent opened, and from the vent the down-breath, and from the down-breath death, which makes the world afraid. The two hands opened, and strength from them, and from that the self-ruling one. The two feet opened, and going from them, and from that Hari.

His channels opened, and from them the blood was drawn, and from that the rivers came to be. Then his belly opened, and from it hunger and thirst, and from those two the sea came to be. Then his heart was split open, and from the heart the mind rose. From the mind the moon was born, and understanding, and from understanding the lord of speech; then I-making, and from that Rudra; then thought, and from that the one who belongs to thought.
