1Bhagavan said: By its acts, with fate for their guide, a creature enters a woman's belly to come by a body, taking its lodging in a drop of a man's seed. 2In one night it is a mingling; in five nights a bubble; in ten days a small hard fruit; and after that a lump of flesh, or else an egg. 3In a month, the head; in two, the shaping of the limbs, the arms and feet and the rest; in three, the nails and hair and bones and skin, and the coming out of the organ and the openings. 4In four, the seven substances of the body; in five, the rising of hunger and thirst; in six, wrapped round in its membrane, it moves about in the right side of the belly.
5Its substance growing by the food and drink and the rest that the mother has taken, that creature lies in a foul place, in the pit of dung and urine, where creatures are made.
