9Priyavrata and Uttanapada were Manu's sons, both of great force; and that age ran on through their sons and their grandsons and their grandsons' sons. 10Manu gave his daughter Devahuti to Kardama, dear one, and you have heard nearly all that belongs to that from me as I told it. 11And the revered Manu gave Prasuti to Daksa, Brahma's son; and by what Daksa made, the great bringing-forth was spread through the three worlds. 12Learn now from me, as it is told, the offspring of those nine daughters of Kardama who were spoken of, the wives of the seers of Brahman. 13Kala, Kardama's daughter and Marici's wife, brought forth Kasyapa and Purnima, and by those two the world was filled.
14Purnima bore Viraja and Visvaga, scorcher of foes, and Devakulya, who came of the washing of Hari's feet and became the river of heaven. 15Atri's wife Anasuya bore three sons of good name, Datta and Durvasas and Soma, who came from the Self, from the Lord and from Brahma. 16The best of the gods, who are the ground of the standing and the arising and the ending of things, were born in Atri's house because they wanted to do something. Tell me about this, teacher.
