So I will not carry this body any longer, since it came out of you, who abuse the blue-throated one. When foul food has been eaten in confusion, they say the cleansing of it is to bring it up again. The mind of the great silent one, who takes his pleasure in his own world, does not run after what the Veda says. The way of gods and the way of men are separate; a man standing in his own duty should not scorn another. Both the action that goes forward and the action that turns away are true, marked out in the Veda and each resting on its own signs. In one doer at one time the two are at odds. And so action does not reach Brahman.

Father, the paths we hold to are not for you: paths not found in sacrifice halls by the roads of smoke, not praised by creatures full of that food, carrying no outward mark, walked by those who have shaken everything off. Not with this body, which came from the body of a man who has wronged Hara. Enough of it, enough of this bad birth. Shame came upon me through kinship with a bad man. A curse on a birth out of one who slanders the great. When the revered one whose banner is the bull, out of sorts and with his easy smile gone, calls me Daksayani after your line, then at once I shall throw off this corpse that came from your body.
