While the people were speaking so, having seen the wonder of Sati's giving up her breath, her attendants stood up with their weapons raised to kill Daksa. Seeing the force of them as they rushed in, the revered Bhrgu poured into the southern fire an offering with the formula that kills the killers of a sacrifice. As the priest poured, gods sprang up with great force, thousands of them, called the Rbhus, who had won soma by their austerity. Beaten by them, whose weapons were firebrands burning with the power of Brahman, all the Pramathas together with the guhyakas scattered to the quarters.
