This body of yours too, Unfallen one, which brings the world into being, gives joy to the eyes of the mind; it carries eight staff-like arms with their weapons raised, that make an end of those who hate the gods. This sacrifice, made by Ka for your worship, was broken today by the lord of the herds in his anger at Daksa. Self of the sacrifice, its offering lies dead and the place looks like a bed of corpses; make it clean for us with a glance bright as a lotus. Bhagavan, what you do hangs on nothing: you act of yourself, and no action sticks to you. Men wait on the goddess to get power from her, and you do not so much as notice her, though she follows you of her own accord.

Our mind is an elephant burnt in the forest fire of trouble; parched with thirst it has plunged into the river of clear nectar that is the telling of you, and it does not remember the fire, and it will not come out, like one who has come into Brahman. The sacrificer's wife said: You are welcome here. Be gracious, Lord; salutation to you. You in whom Sri dwells, save us, and let your beloved Sri save us with you. Without you, overlord, the sacrifice does not shine for all its limbs, any more than a man's trunk shines with the head gone. The guardians of the worlds said: Are you seen by our eyes, which take hold only of what is not real? You are the seer within, by whom whatever is seen is seen. This is your own maya, boundless one, that you, being the sixth, shine out with the five elements.
