38No one is dearer to you than the man who sees nothing in you, lord, self of all, as apart from his own self. Even so, Lord, show grace to those who come running with a devotion that turns nowhere else, you who are tender to them. 39Salutation to the god who, in the world's arising and standing and dissolving, by his own maya whose strands split into many, made the thought of a divided self; and who in his own standing has turned those strands of confusion back. 40Salutation to you who have taken clarity for your own and who send out dharma and the rest; and to you who are beyond the strands, whose furthest reach neither I nor any other knows.
41By his fire my own fire is well kindled, and I carry the butter-soaked offering in the good rite. To that sacrifice, fivefold and well offered with the five formulas, I bow. 42Long ago, when the aeon fell away, you took into yourself all you had made and all that had been altered, and you alone, the first Person, lay on that water on the bed of the snake-lord, your inward road pondered in the heart by the perfected. And it is that same one who walks today in the path of our eyes and keeps us, who are your servants. 43God, Marici and the rest are shares of your shares, and so are the hosts of gods with Brahma and Indra and Rudra at their head. This whole world is your toy, boundless one; may we bow to you always, lord.
