So instructed by the Bhagavan, the lord of the lords of creatures worshipped Hari with his own rite, and then made offering to the gods on both sides. With his mind gathered he came to Rudra with the share that was his; and with the closing rite he honoured the soma-drinkers and the others as well; and having closed it he took the final bath with the priests. To him too, who by his own strength had come to his success, they gave a mind set on dharma and nothing else; and those gods went back to heaven. So Sati, Daksa's daughter, left that earlier body and was born in the field of Himavat, in Mena: so we have heard it.

Ambika chose again that same beloved for her husband, whose one course is a love that turns nowhere else, as a power that has been asleep takes up the Person again. This deed of the revered Sambhu, who wrecked Daksa's sacrifice, I heard from Uddhava, one of the Lord's own and a pupil of Brhaspati. This highest doing of the Lord is cleansing; it gives fame and long life and wears away a flood of ill. The man who hears it constantly and sings it after shakes off what is ill, Kaurava, out of the feeling of devotion.
