1Hearing the son of Kusaru tell how Dhruva climbed to the station of Vaikuntha, Vidura, in whom feeling for the Bhagavan beyond the reach of the senses had grown deep, set about asking him more. 2Who were the ones called the Pracetas, keeper of good vows? Whose children were they? In whose line were they known? And where did they hold their long sacrifice? 3I take Narada, who has the sight of the gods, to be great among the Lord's own. It was he who spoke the yoga of rites, the rule for serving Hari. 4They say Narada, who is full of devotion, told of the Bhagavan, the Person of sacrifice, as men who keep to their own duty worship him.
5Brahmin, I want to hear. Tell me in full the accounts of the Bhagavan that the divine sage gave there.
