Hero, the giver of wealth brought him a golden seat of honour, and Varuna a parasol that shed water, bright as the moon. Vayu brought two yak-tail fans, Dharma a garland made of fame, Indra a fine crown, and Yama the rod that holds men in check. Brahma brought armour made of Brahman, Bharati the best of necklaces, Hari the discus Sudarsana, and Hari's wife a good fortune that nothing checks. Rudra brought a sword with ten moons on it, and Ambika a shield with a hundred; Soma horses made of the deathless drink, and Tvastr a chariot of fine make. Agni brought a bow of horn, and Surya arrows made of his rays; the earth brought two sandals made of yoga, and the sky a fall of flowers day after day.

Those who move in the sky brought dancing, good singing, instruments and the power to vanish; the sages true blessings; the ocean the conch born of itself. The seas and the mountains and the rivers made roads for the great one's chariot. Then a bard, a herald and a praiser came up to sing of him.
