The perfected ones made Kapila the calf and milked into the sky the power that comes at a wish; and the vidyadharas and the rest milked out knowledge. And others, the workers of maya, whose nature is vanishing and wonder, made Maya the calf and milked out maya, which is a holding of the mind fast. Yaksas and raksasas, spirits and flesh-eating pisacas made the lord of spirits their calf and milked into a skull a strong drink of blood. So too the snakes and the biting creatures, the serpents and the nagas, made Taksaka the calf and milked out into the vessel of a hole milk that was poison. The cattle made the bull their calf and milked grass for their milk into the vessel of the forest; and the fanged beasts milked with the lion for their calf.

The eaters of raw flesh milked out raw flesh into their own bodies; and the birds, with Suparna for calf, milked what moves and what does not move. The trees, with the banyan for calf, milked out milk that was each its own sap; the mountains, with Himavat for calf, milked the various ores onto their own ridges. All of them, each with the chief of his own kind for a calf, milked the earth, who gives whatever is wanted, each his own milk into his own vessel, once Prthu had made her ready.
