Great king, do not brood over this. Hear my words with a mind that honours them. When a man broods on doing what fate has already struck down, his mind, too full of anger, goes into a blind darkness. Let this rite stop. It bears hard on the gods, and through it dharma has been broken by the false habits Indra made. Look at how people are being carried off by these false habits that steal the heart, which Indra let loose, he who wronged your sacrifice and stole your horse. You have come down here to save the dharma of men, fitted to the times, which had been wiped out by Vena's wrongdoing. Son of Vena, out of his very body you are a portion of Visnu.

Lord of creatures, weigh how this came about and carry through what the makers of the world intended. Master, put down Indra's maya, the mother of lesser dharmas, the wild road of false habits. Told so by the teacher of the world, the lord of the people did as he was told, and made his peace and his friendship with Indra too.
