13Once there was a consecration there for a great sacrificial session, and a gathering, best of men, of the dwellers in heaven, of brahmin sages and of royal sages. 14When all the worthy there had been well honoured, each as he deserved, he stood up in the middle of the assembly like the moon among the stars. 15Tall, his arms full and long, fair-skinned, his eyes red as a lotus, with a fine nose and a fine face, gentle, his shoulders full, his teeth good when he smiled; 16his chest broad, his hips wide, his belly folded and shapely as a leaf, his navel a whirlpool; full of force, his thighs golden, his feet arched high;
17his hair fine and curling and black and glossy, his neck like a conch. He put on a costly cloth of the best weave and drew another across his shoulder, 18and with the beauty of every limb thus shown, his ornaments laid aside for the vow, wearing a black deerskin and holding kusa grass, he did what the occasion asked. 19His eyes cool and soft in their pupils, the lord of the earth looked all around him and spoke, as though to gladden the assembly. 20His words were lovely and varied, smooth, polished, deep and unfaltering, spoken for the good of everyone there, as though he were only saying again what was already known.
