13Masters, is it well with us, who know no worth but the worth of what the senses want, and who have fallen by our own works into this reaping of misery? 14A question about welfare is not to be put to you, who take your pleasure in the self, in whom there are no turns of mind that go well or ill. 15So, having made bold with you, friends of the austere, I ask: in this becoming, by what does safety come easily? 16It is plain that the Bhagavan, unborn, the self of those who hold themselves, who brings the self to be, walks here in the shape of the perfected out of kindness to his own. 17Hearing that well-spoken word of Prthu's, weighty and rightly measured and sweet, the boy answered him gladly, as though smiling.
18Well asked, great king. Such is the mind of the good, and yours too, learned as you are and set on the good of every living thing.
