There, come by chance, he saw a woman of the best sort, walking with ten servants, each of whom led a hundred. She was guarded on every side by a snake with five heads for her doorkeeper. She was looking for a husband, not yet full grown, and could take whatever shape she liked. Her nose was fine and her teeth good, a girl, her cheeks good, her face excellent, and she wore the beauty of earrings in her two well-set ears; her under-cloth tawny, her hips fine, her skin dark, a golden girdle on her, walking on feet whose anklets rang, like a goddess; her breasts, which showed she was in her first youth, round and even and close together, hidden with the end of her cloth out of shyness, and she walked like an elephant.

The hero spoke prettily to her, who was lovely with a shy smile, touched as he was by the soft feathered arrow of her sidelong look and her brow unsteady with love.
