A certain daughter of Time, wanting a husband, went wandering through the three worlds, Barhisat, and no one was glad of her. By her own ill luck she was known in the world as the Luckless. Once, chosen by the royal sage Puru, she was pleased with him and gave him a boon. Once, roaming about, she came upon me, who had come down to earth from Brahma's world, and she chose me, under the great vow though she knew me, being crazed with wanting. Blazing up at me, she laid on me a curse very hard to bear: since you turn away from my asking, sage, you shall not be able to stay in one place. Then the girl, her purpose broken, went to the lord of the yavanas, to whom I had pointed her, and chose for husband the one whose name is Fear.

Bull of the yavanas, I choose you for husband, the husband heroes want. A purpose that living beings set upon you does not come to nothing.
