Verse 6

¹Barhismat, those soldiers of the one whose name is Fear, who carry out what is appointed, went over this earth together with Prajvara and the daughter of Time. ²Once, king, they laid violent siege to Puranjana's city, rich in the good things of earth and guarded by an aging serpent. ³The daughter of Time too fed by force on Puranjana's city. A man once overcome by her goes at once to having nothing left in him. ⁴While she was feeding on it, the yavanas came in by the gates from every direction and harried the whole city hard. ⁵As the city was crushed, Puranjana, who took it for his own, a householder wild with his sense of mine, came in for torments of many kinds.

⁶Held in the girl's arms, his splendour gone, wretched, his self given over to the things of sense, his wits gone, his mastery seized by the gandharvas and the yavanas,
