Of all goods, in truth, the self is the limit; and for all beings Hari is the self, the giver of the self, the dear one. As by watering a tree's root its trunk and boughs and twigs are satisfied, and as the senses are by an offering made to the breath, so worship of the Unfallen is the honouring of all. As waters come from the sun and enter it again in their time, and as beings that stand still and beings that move come from the earth, so the flowing of the strands is in Hari alone. This is the highest state of him who is the self of the world, shining out at one stroke, as the sun's light shines. As the breaths wake when their powers have slept, so the straying that splits thing and act and knowing comes to its end.

As in the sky cloud and darkness and light come to be and, in their turn, do not, kings, so in the highest Brahman these powers are: passion, darkness and clarity, a flowing on. So worship straight out, with the feeling that the self is one, that one Self of all who wear bodies: time, the ground, the Person, the highest lord, in whom the flow of the strands is broken by his own light.
