And in Hiranmaya too the Bhagavan lives, bearing the body of a tortoise. Aryaman, the chief of the fathers, with the men of that region, draws near that dearest body of his and murmurs this spell after him. Om. Homage to the Bhagavan, the boundless one, marked out by every quality of clarity, whose place cannot be made out. Homage to his bulk. Homage to his fullness. Homage, homage to his standing. Homage to you. This form is the very being of things, laid out by your own maya and shaped into many shapes; there is no counting it, since it is not grasped as it is. Homage to you, whose form has no name to point at.

Born of the womb, born of sweat, born of the egg, breaking out of the ground; moving and unmoving; god, sage, father, being, sense; sky, space, earth, mountain, river, sea, island, planet and star: it is one that all these words mean. In him, whose particular names and forms and shapes cannot be counted, this counting was contrived by the poets — the counting by which, with the sight of what is real, it is taken away again. Homage to you, who show that enumeration forth.
