How terrible a thing came upon me, who never mastered myself, by whom the sacred learning was washed away when I begot children on a low woman. Shame on me, condemned by the good, an evildoer, the soot of my family, who left a young and true wife and went to an unchaste woman who drank liquor. My parents, old and unprotected, with no other kinsman, bearing hardship: I have left them now, ungrateful, in the way of a low man. So it is plain I shall fall into a hell fierce beyond bearing, where those full of desire who destroy dharma come upon Yama's torments. Was this a dream, or was this wonder seen here with my own eyes? Where have they gone today, those who dragged me off with nooses in their hands?

And where have they gone, those four perfected ones, lovely to look at, who set me free as I was being carried away, bound with nooses, below the earth?
