As the gods stood praying in this way, great king, he showed himself in the western quarter, holding conch and wheel and mace. He was waited on by sixteen like himself, but for the Srivatsa and the Kaustubha, and his eyes were the open lotuses of autumn. Seeing him, all of them, undone by the gladness of the sight, fell to the ground like sticks, king, and rose slowly and praised him. Salutation to you whose strength is sacrifice, and salutation to you as the seasons. Salutation to you who have flung your wheel, and salutation to you who are called upon well and by many. What your highest place is, the place of the ruler of the three courses, no one on this side of the sending forth is fit to know, Ordainer.
