So praised with reverence by the thirty gods, king, Hari heard how they stood before him, and, made glad, spoke to them. Bhagavan said: I am pleased with you, best of the gods, by this knowledge of how to stand before me, by which men come to remember the lordship of the self, and come to devotion to me. What is hard to get when I am pleased, bulls among the gods? And yet a man whose mind is bent on me alone, who knows what is real, wants nothing from me but me. A wretched man does not know his own good, seeing only what the strands have made. If someone hands him those things when he wants them, that giver is of the same sort.

One who himself knows the highest good does not tell an ignorant man to go and act. The best physician does not hand a sick man what harms him, even when he asks for it.
