19Lord of the gods, why do you not send the thunderbolt that never misses, when I who am your enemy stand before you? Do not doubt it. The thunderbolt will not come to nothing as the mace did, the way a plea for a miser's money comes to nothing. 20Surely this thunderbolt of yours, Sakra, is made keen by Hari's fire and by Dadhici's austerity. Kill your enemy with that very thing, held to it by Visnu; for where Hari is, there is victory and fortune and every good quality. 21As Sankarsana said, I will settle my mind on his lotus feet; and with the village cord torn from me by the rush of your thunderbolt, and the world thrown off, I will go the way the sage goes.
22The riches that are in heaven and on earth and in the world below, he does not give to men who are his own and hold to him alone; for out of riches come hatred and unrest and worry, and pride and quarrelling and ruin and struggle. 23Our master arranges the wrecking of a man's labour after the three ends, Sakra. From that one may work out what the Bhagavan's favour is, which is hard to get and which others come within reach of only when they have nothing.
