Hearing Vrtra's words, which had no falsehood in them, Indra honoured them. He took up the bolt, and, laughing, his astonishment past, said to him: Danava, you are perfected, since your mind is of this kind: devoted with your whole being to the Self, the friend, the Lord of the world. You have crossed over Visnu's maya, which bewilders people, in that you have left the demon's nature behind and come to the state of the great Person. This is truly a great marvel: that in you, whose nature is passion, the mind stands firm on Vasudeva, the Bhagavan, whose own being is clarity. A man whose devotion is to the Bhagavan, Hari, the lord of the highest good, is playing in an ocean of nectar. What are little pits of water to him?
