18The brahmin sages came to him, Bharata, and consecrated him in due order for the horse rite, which is a worship offered to the Person. 19Then, while the Person, whose self is made of all the gods, was being worshipped in the horse sacrifice that great Indra spread out with those who speak of Brahman, 20that killing of Tvastr's son, king, and the heap of guilt besides, however great, was brought to nothing by it, as mist is brought to nothing by the sun. 21Having sacrificed by the horse rite as it is laid down, spread out by Marici and the others, to the ancient Person who presides over sacrifice, Indra became great, his guilt shaken off him.
22This is a great telling: it washes away guilt to the last of it, it praises him whose feet are the ford, it raises devotion up, it tells of the people who are devoted to him, and it is the release of great Indra and the victory of the lord of the Maruts. 23Let the wise read this telling always, and let them hear it at each turn of the moon. It gives strength, good fortune and good name, lets a man go of all his guilt, defeats his enemies, and makes for well-being and long life.
