22The self is lasting, unspent, clean, everywhere, knowing everything, beyond. Yet it takes on a mark of its own, sending out the strands by maya. 23As trees look as if they were moving when the water moves, and as the earth is seen as if it moved when the eye is turned round, 24so when the mind is turned round by the strands, the Person, who is untouched, comes to be like it, good woman, and though he has no mark, seems to have one. 25This is the turning about of the self: the imagining of a mark where there is none. This is joining and parting with the liked and the disliked; this is the round of works. 26And this is called coming to be and being destroyed, and grief of every kind, and lack of discernment, and worry, and the forgetting of what one discerned.
