Sons of the demons, it takes no great labour to please the Unfallen, since he is the self of all beings and stands accomplished here already, on every side. In beings high and low, from things that do not move up to Brahma; in the things made of the elements and in the elements themselves; and in the great principles; in the strands, in the balance of the strands, and in their stirring together, there is one supreme Self alone, the Bhagavan, the Lord, who never wastes away. Himself, as the inward self and as what is seen, he can be pointed to as the pervaded and the pervader; and he cannot be pointed to, and nothing divides him.

The Lord most high, whose own form is bliss known in itself alone, has his mastery covered over by maya, which puts the strands forth; and so it is that he is met with. So show pity to all beings, and friendship, letting the demon temper go; for by that the one beyond the reach of the senses is pleased.
