Seeing the man-lion Hari with his face gentle in favour, Brahma praised him with words that make clean, and, ringed about by the gods and the rest, spoke. God of gods, overseer of all, maker of beings, first-born: by good fortune this wicked demon who scorched the worlds has been killed by you. He got a boon from me, that he was not to be killed by anything I had made; and swollen with the strength of austerity and yoga, he struck down all the sacred laws. By good fortune his son, a good little boy who is great among the Lord's own, has been let go from death by you; and by good fortune he has now come to you. Bhagavan, this body of yours, of the supreme Self, guards on every side one who meditates on it, from every terror and from death itself when it means to kill.

Mighty one, lotus-born one, you should not give such a boon to the demons. A boon to those whose nature is cruel is like nectar given to snakes. Having said this, king, the Bhagavan Hari then went out of sight, unseen by all beings, having been worshipped by the one who stands highest.
