As much as fills the belly· Verses 6–9

Kinsmen, parents, sons, brothers and other friends: whatever they say and whatever they want, he should agree to it, and hold nothing as his own. Wealth of the sky, of the earth and of the air between is made by the Unfallen. A wise man, enjoying all of it, should do just this of his own accord. As much as fills the belly, so much belongs to those who carry a body. Whoever claims more than that is a thief and deserves to be punished. Deer and camels and donkeys, monkeys, mice, creeping things, birds and flies he should look on as his own children; how little there is between them and his own.
