Seeing how men look down on one another, king, the wise in the Treta age and after made an image of Hari, so that there should be something to do. So some put their trust in Hari in the image and serve him with honours. But even that service gives nothing to those who hate the Person. Among persons, king of kings, they know the brahmin to be the fittest to receive: by austerity, by learning and by contentment he carries the Veda, which is the body of Hari. Surely, king, the brahmins of this Krsna, who is the self of the world, are the great deity, cleansing the three worlds with the dust of their feet.
