31So when the lord of elephants had come to this strait for his life, a bearer of a body left helpless by chance, and could not free himself for all that long while, he thought, and then came to this understanding. 32These kinsmen of mine, the elephants, cannot free me in my distress, and how should the cows? Held in the noose of the Ordainer through this crocodile, I go to him who is the highest goal. 33Whoever the Lord is who guards the frightened one that comes to him from the strong serpent of the ender, rushing hard upon him with its terrible speed; from fear of whom death itself runs away: him, the shelter, we ask for.
