Then the grandfather and Bhava bowed to that Bhagavan and went each to his own dwelling; and the gods went to Bali. Seeing his own leaders stirred up, though the enemy came unarmed, the king of the Daityas, a man worth praising, who knew the hour for peace and the hour for war, held them back. They came up to the son of Virocana as he sat there, guarded by the leaders of the demon bands, waited on by the highest good fortune, master of everything. Great Indra, whose understanding is great, soothed him with smooth words and told him the whole of what he had been taught by the best of Persons. That was to the Daitya's liking, and to the other lords of the demons there, Sambara and Aristanemi and those who live in the three cities.

Then the gods and the antigods made their agreement, and having become friends, put out the greatest effort for the sake of the nectar, scorcher of enemies.
