We cannot praise you· Verses 33–35

।

Your two feet are thought upon in the heart by the teachers of those who take their pleasure in the self, and you go about scorched with austerity together with Uma. Those who call you fierce and harsh and fond of the burning ground have surely never known your help, and have thrown their shame away. So of you, higher than the highest, beyond what is and what is not, the vast: Brahma and the others cannot come straight to your own form. How much less can we praise you, who are no more than what the making of his making reaches to, and are just so much power. This much of you we see, great Lord, and no further. Your showing yourself, whose acts are never seen, is for the gladdening of the world.
